Statistical correlations in nuclear many-body states
نویسنده
چکیده
Statistical correlations of nuclear many-body states are explored in the Odls shell model as a function of the strength of residual interactions. Model independent predictions for correlation functions and distributions, developed from parametric random-matrix theory, are found to describe the observed nuclear behavior for excited states. In particular, we find that correlations generally decrease as a power law. PACS: 24.60.-k; 24.10.Cn; 24.6O.L~; 05.4O.+j

A fermion realization of compact symplectic algebra provides a natural framework for studying pairing correlations of many-body interactions in nuclei. Here, we use quantum deformation concept in order to describe pairing correlations in atomic nuclei. While the nondeformed limit of the theory provides a reasonable and overall description of certain nuclear properties and fine structure effects...

Using a combination of electronic-structure and many-body calculations, we investigate correlations effects in the halfmetallic ferromagnet NiMnSb. A realistic many-body Hamiltonian, containing only Mn-d orbitals shows the importance of non-quasiparticle states just above the Fermi level. Our results suggest that for a better description of low energy states around Fermi level, Ni-d orbitals s...
متن کاملNuclear Structure – " Ab Initio "
An ab-initio description of atomic nuclei that solves the nuclear many-body problem for realistic nuclear forces is expected to possess a high degree of predictive power. In this contribution we treat the main obstacle, namely the short-ranged repulsive and tensor correlations induced by the realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction , by means of a unitary correlation operator. This correlator appl...
متن کاملCorrelations within eigenvectors and transition amplitudes in the two-body random interaction model.
It is shown that the two-body character of the interaction in a many-body system gives rise to specific correlations between the components of compound states, even if this interaction is completely random. Surprisingly, these correlations increase with the increase of the number of active (valence) particles. Statistical theory of transition amplitudes between compound states, which takes into...
متن کاملUniversality of short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations
In nuclei, the nuclear interaction induces strong shortrange correlations among the nucleons. Realistic nucleonnucleon interactions, which reproduce the nucleon-nucleon scattering phase-shifts and deuteron properties, contain short-range repulsive and tensor components. Due to the short-range repulsion, nucleon pairs will not be found at distances below 0.5 fm. This is reflected by a high momen...
